Community engagement
& staff wellbeing.

All BMG staff live within the local area and are active members of the community lawn bowling club, demonstrating a strong and genuine commitment to the village and its people.

Community lawn bowling club

Bryan has shown outstanding leadership by organising a dedicated team day last year and again this year, centred on a sponsored lawn bowling tournament. The event was designed to support staff wellbeing while also raising valuable funds for the bowling club and the wider local community.

To further encourage participation and engagement, Bryan personally sponsored a £500 prize for the winning team in both years. This contribution helped enhance turnout, enthusiasm, and overall fundraising success. As a gesture of appreciation for his team’s commitment and hard work, Bryan also arranged for a live band to provide evening entertainment, ensuring the day concluded as a shared celebration and a memorable experience for all involved.

New lease of life for village museum

BMG was established in 2011 and has grown considerably over the years, providing specialist structural engineering and surveying services to the solar and renewable energy industry across the UK. Despite that national growth, the company has remained firmly rooted in Muirkirk, with its staff coming from the village and surrounding communities.

The company’s new home will be familiar to many people locally. BMG purchased the former Muirkirk village museum and internet café from East Ayrshire Council and has since extended and completely transformed the building into modern office accommodation, creating a new long-term use for an important building within the village.

“We could have looked elsewhere as the company grew, but we wanted to stay in Muirkirk and invest here. When the opportunity came up to purchase the former museum and internet café, we could see the potential straight away.”

The new office gives BMG the space required for the next stage of its development, with further growth and employment opportunities planned as the company continues to expand its engineering and surveying services.

Supporting local events

We were delighted to sponsor Muirkirk Gala Day, with our donation going directly towards the Gala Court, covering costs so the parents involved didn’t have to. It takes a community pulling together to make a special event like this happen, and we were proud to have played our part.

Through these combined efforts, Bryan has strengthened community ties, promoted staff wellbeing, and demonstrated meaningful, hands‑on leadership that delivers lasting value to both employees and the local community.
