The rollout of solar energy initiatives at Premier Inn hotels is part of Whitbread’s broader sustainability strategy. The company has set ambitious carbon reduction targets and is working towards removing mains gas connections from its properties by 2040. 238 rooftop solar schemes across Premier Inn sites, providing significant energy savings and renewable power generation.
Our approach
BMG Surveys Ltd carried out structural appraisals across multiple sites, including:
- Assessment of steel and timber frames, purlin sizes, spans, spacing and restraint
- Full loading analysis (dead, PV, snow including drift, and wind)
- Checks at Ultimate and Serviceability Limit States
- Targeted engineering solutions and installation guidance
